Well with the market in the Salt area stableizing somewhat the topic of Home Staging is coming up again. I am often asked what is the difference between Home Staging and Interior Decorating? Well.... Home Staging is to set a "Stage" so the buyer can see the features and benefits of the home and to create emotion when they enter each room. Interior Design is to meet the needs of the homeowner. When a home is listed it is now a commodity on the market, and we want to make each buyer feel at home when they enter our listing. Another very important factor is to highlight positive features of the home and to create distractions of any negatives...very difficult in a vacant home. Also it's is not just about "staging items" we also consider light, sound and smell to create "emotional" triggers". Buyers will look at many factors when deciding to purchase a home, but make no mistake they will make the final determination based on emotion.
