Alfredo (Al) Rodriguez is the latest in the long line of industry leaders to join BodHD! Al Rodriguez, or 'Al Rod' as his friends know him, entered network marketing in the mid 90’s and almost immediately found success. You could just feel the engergy in the air as Saturday started off with Travis Flaherty introducing founder and creator of BodHD Ray Grimm. Ray shared some of his vision with the group and also let off a couple of hints as to what and when we will hear about new products that will allow us to leverage this already spectacular brand and business to the next levels. I would not miss the Launch Event in San Diego if I was you.....
Travis Flaherty started us off with an excellent review of business opportunity and then took the opportunity to have Dr. Tanya do a product overview. Then Dr. Tanya and Ray Grimm held a question and answer period that was very helpful in answering some good questions from the crowd.
Dr. David and Vicki Mancuso both had great messages on the importance of you Why? I really, really agree with Dr. David regarding his passions about this business and the timing. And Vicki’s why of her kids commenting how “proud of her” they are; both very power why’s that clearly keep this couple focused and driving towards greater success.
Travis gave a review of the New VIP Launch for new associates and their top VIP’s. This is a great way for anyone to jump start things here at BodHD with their own network.
Although I was not there for the afternoon session, there was lots of chatter later that night at Royal Palms Resort where we gather for our post dinner socializing. Eric & Dallas shared a cold marketing system that will work wonders for you and your team.

The afternoon was topped off with the special Keynote Speaker Cheryl Ables. Cheryl is a renowned speaker and trainer in our industry, and she shared some great secrets to success. Eric and Daniel were both commenting later that evening what a great job she had done when they were talking with Ray.
Wow was BodHD AZ Saturday Aug. 27th Event was a smash hit, and the newest products are …....... There were some rumors as to what we can see for products coming down the line, weight loss product, a libido product, shakes, or something to target the 20’s and 30’s demographic. Who knows, no specifics yet. You will have to attend the San Diego Launch Event to be the first to know.
The reality is, if you really break down what I said in MLM no Spin Zone…Part ONE, by Travis Flaherty, I suggested that this was a ticketed event. I suggested there was a fee to attend and I implied not everyone could attend – that in some way this was exclusive. Now, I know you could argue what we were to speak on was of value, that it was exclusive or ‘invite only’ – which could justify the word “ticketed”. Believe me I tried, when I was called out on this. Later that evening, Jef and I had a discussion about leadership and how important it is to have integrity at the top. I agreed. He then surprisingly brought up my approach earlier in the day, as an example of the “spinning” that goes on in MLM.
At first I was defensive. “I did exactly what I had been taught”, I thought to myself. However, after spending 15 minutes trying to defend my position, I decided to really listen to what he was saying….And he was right! Jef Welch called me out on this and I want to thank him for doing it because it’s helped me raise my game to the next level.
“Spinning” and “Hype” have been around MLM since its origination. The only difference today is it’s highly perpetuated and amplified by Social Media.
Another example I often see is “I am looking for my next 3 people to teach how to make six figures this year.” I see this all the time on Facebook and Twitter. The sentence SUGGESTS that you have already done this in the past – when in fact 90% of the people posting things like this have not! When I started in MLM, some of the worst advice I was ever given was “Fake it till you make it”. This is still very prominent in the industry today.
Now I know many of you reading this are going to say, “Well technically what I am saying is the truth, if you really look at what I am saying”. And I hear you…The question I would ask is not, what are you saying,” technically”; it’s, what are you leading people to believe or they assume from the way you say it?
Building your business upon “Spin” and “Hype” is likened to building a foundation on shaky ground. It won’t last! You will continue to attract the bottom feeders in your business, the people who are looking to ‘get rich quick’, or catch the next free ride. My friend Jef was right; you must have INTEGRITY AT THE TOP if you want to build something that lasts. And isn’t that why we all entered into this industry – To create a long term, residual income for our family?
In closing, if you want to be a part of raising the bar in this industry, if you want to proudly call yourself a MLM Professional – then it’s time to step up and declare a “No Spin Zone!” The only true way to grow an organization is to focus on what you have to offer from a personal standpoint, a systematic standpoint and most importantly – A leadership standpoint! The moment people join your team because of what YOU have to offer, and when you no longer have to rely on “spinning” to recruit, YOU KNOW YOU’VE ARRIVED!
Warning:MLM no Spin Zone, by Travis Flaherty is probably the most controversial article I have written. By continuing to read on, you run the risk of being offended. If this is you, then it is likely you need to hear this information! My intent in writing this is to raise some clarity on what it means to be a TRUE ‘MLM Professional’. It’s important to point out much of what I will be talking about, the examples I will be giving, I HAVE DONE PERSONALLY! As leaders, we are eager to share our victories – but forget there is even more wisdom in sharing our mistakes and past failures. It is my hope that my trial and error can help you to avoid some of the same pitfalls I’ve fallen in over the years.
There is a serious issue running rampant in MLM. In fact, I believe this issue is so big – it threatens the very livelihood of our industry. Unless we, as leaders, take a stand against this problem our profession will never be taken seriously. The issue I am referring to is “The Spin” that goes on in MLM. Others might describe it as “Hype”. In other words, I am referring to saying or representing something in a manner, in which the intent is to have someone assume something, that otherwise would not be true.
Allow me to provide some specific examples of what I am referring to. (Again, picking on myself for a moment) I was recently traveling internationally with my good friend and mentor, Jef Welch. We were in a cab together on our way to a business briefing. As Marketers, we naturally sparked a conversation with the cab driver by asking the normal questions; “How long have you been driving a cab?” “Do you enjoy what you do?” etc. We had a very pleasant conversation, during the drive. When we were exiting the cab I was prompted to invite the cabby to the event we would be speaking at later that evening. (Here’s where my MLM training kicked in) I started with a quick look at my watch – to suggest I was in a hurry. I complimented the driver, I had already decided on an ‘indirect approach’ since I did not have a great report with the driver. “
So let me ask you a question; WHO DO YOU KNOW that might be interested in a potential six figure income opportunity, working from home?” Of course it prompted the real question I was looking for from the driver, “What is it?” he replied. I grinned with confidence knowing that I had just gained posture in the conversation. (I thought to myself, Eric Worre would be so proud!) Then I made the invite, “If I were able to get you ticket, to a very special event on creating wealth, hosted by some very powerful people might I add – would you be able to attend?” And then I continued, “Now I’m not saying I can get you a ticket, as they are sold out. But IF I could get you a ticket, for free, would you be able to make it this evening?” Now, most reading this may not see an issue with my approach. In fact, I thought it was excellent at the time. I was doing exactly what I had been trained to do. My Mentors had always taught me when inviting to build huge audacious value....... That is it for MLM no Spin Zone part One, by Travis Flaherty.

The Hale Center Theatre in Gilbert, AZ was opened in 2002 by the Hale's grandson David Dietlein and his wife Correin. This meant that the original 110-seat theater in Glendale had now evolved into a mini-empire with five facilities located in three different states. Usuallly on Fridays this summer I spend the day with my little boy catching up on house chores, running errands, and having some fun in the pool, at the park, or on a bike. Today we ran some errands and stopped at Grandma's house. We let everyone know where we were going for lunch and they just had to join us at Ted's Hot Dogs. So Grandma, Grandpa, the cousin boys, and I all met at Ted's for lunch.
One of the greatest things about Ted's Hot Dogs is that they Chargrill all their meats rignt in front of you. It is wonderful, but you better get there early to beat the line. Don't worry it moves fast, this video below was taken at 11:30 am today, a Friday. The rush had not even started yet, sometimes the line it out the door when we get there after noon.
The Tempe, AZ, Ted's Hot Dogs open in 1983, and my family moved to Arizona in 1986. Within a couple of years, my mother was working at the Alpine Ski Keller, I think, that was right behind Ted's at McKlintock and Broadway in Tempe. They have hot dogs, all beef dogs, white hots, polish sausages, corn dogs, burgers, chicken, kid's meals, and my favorites Brats. They also have great onion rings and french fries; oooh yeah and who can forget the Loganberry Shakes or other fresh hand made shakes.

I have seen a few Haboob, Sandstorm, Duststorm walls roll over the Gilbert, and Phoenix Metro areas quite a few times in my life, but I do not remember seeing one like we saw last night. Words hardly do it justice, and I did not get video. So I have included two YouTube videos of the Haboob rolling in over Gilbert and Phoenix from other local people. I was outside tying things down and bringing things in when it engulfed me and my home here in Gilbert.
It was a perfectly steamy hot day after the monsoon moisture and storms we have been having the last couple of afternoons here in the Valley of the Sun. In the distance arose and came marching towards us from the South one of the larges Dust Storms I have ever seen. The first video is from a Gilbert, AZ resident as this clear day turns pitch black from dust. This is an excellent video capture of what the storm was like as it approached and engulfed us.
The second video is a more Macro view of the Haboob as it engulfs the entire city. It was reported to have sustained winds of 60-70 mph for as long as 5-10 minutes at a time. We made a mad dash around the house making sure all of the outside stuff was tied down or put away. As you can see by this view, the Haboob or Sandstorm wall is visibly moving very fast over the entire Phoenix, AZ valley.
Gilbert, Arizona was ranked in CNNMoney’s as the 36th best small city in the United States in which to live. Just as its ranking for safety has jumped dramatically, however, it seems a good bet that Gilbert will continue to ascend in the overall livability ratings as well.
