How To Interview a real estate agent in 2012 in Lilburn, GA

Atlanta Real EstateHow To Interview a real estate agent in 2012 in Lilburn, GA is not a question often thought about often and in today's technological revolution, interviewing methods are so different than they used to be.

Being tech savvy myself and knowing what I look for in any professional that I am searching for, I have put together some ways to really know if your real estate agent is "up" with the latest technology and in essence "up" with properly marketing your home so you can know how to interview a real estate agent in 2012.

How To Interview an agent in 2012  requires you to think like a consumer searching for a home.  This will enable you to see if this agent has the proper tools in place to sell your home.

How To Interview an agent in 2012 is very different than say, in the nineties.  Back then, a prospective seller would either call the agent that initially sold them their home, or an agent referred by a friend.  Otherwise, if a prospective seller was "with the times", they would thumb through the free real estate magazines and see who had the largest ads.

How To Interview an agent in 2012 Suggestions and/or Questions:

1. How quickly did the agent or a team member respond to your request?  In today's fast paced world, buyers do not want to wait.  It is very important that the agent responds immediately.  That is why Steven Betolatti  has a service that actually forwards calls to wherever he is or to an assistant to answer the calls immediately.

2. Take a look at their website or website(s).  Since almost 85% of buyers initiate their search online it is very important that they have a web presence and very important when asking how to interview a real estate agent in 2012.

3. Taking #2 into consideration - how will they get your home on the web in a way that will get most exposure (not their personal marketing but your listings).  Ideally your home should come up when searching "3" bedroom "2" bath in the "city".  Yes, it should be that broad.

4. Will they provide you with a single property website that will show up on page 1 of google?

5. How To Interview a real estate agent in 2012  includes their social presence as well.  Check out their Facebook and Twitter accounts.  Do they have a good amount of followers- are they professional enough to have a true "Fan" business page rather than a personal page only?

6.  Ask them about additional tech tools that they will use such as  QR codes, Text and Mobile Sites, Phone Blasts and more.  They need to be able to cater to the most tech savvy buyers.

7. Be weary of agents reducing their value.  Keep in mind that if they are so easily swayed at reducing their own worth, how will they be in negotiating the value of your home?

8. Check out their blog.  Do they have a blog?

9.  Check out their Trulia and Realtor.com profiles and make sure that they are enhancing the listings with photos and additional features and info.

20. Be weary if the agent is willing to overprice your home.  Many will take a listing to simply get their names out there.

With todays technology a home is "Virtually" held open 24/7 so "open houses" are not as important as it used to be.  Even a new agent in the business could potentially be a better choice than an experienced agent with no tools.  Keep in mind, when asking how to interview a real estate agent in 2012, that agents need to be proactive and be searching for those buyers but they need to have the information available all over the place for the buyer to be able to find your home.

So hopefully  this will help you the next time you ask how to interview a real estate agent in 2012.
