Frisco, TEXAS (February 7, 2012) – Frisco Square transforms into an outdoor fine art gallery the last weekend in March with free admission and parking - open to the public. Arts in the Square is Saturday, March 31st from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday, April 1st from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. Arts in the Square is an annual, juried Fine Arts festival featuring the best national and regional artists who sell their original creations. The 3rd annual Arts in the Square is co-presented and hosted by Frisco Square Development, which maintains a reputation of bringing high end buying crowds to this event, and Frisco Arts, which manages the Frisco Discovery Center. Frisco Arts, the Official Art Agency of Frisco, is designated to enrich the Frisco community by supporting the awareness, presence and practice of the visual, musical, and performing arts. Again this year they support the Arts in the Square festival, an event that affords artists from around the country an opportunity to showcase their works to the North Texas community.
The artists are competing in the following categories: 2D Mixed Media, 3D Mixed Media, Acrylics, Ceramics, Drawings, Pastels, Fiber art, Glass, Jewelry, Leather, Metalwork, Oil, Photography, Sculpture, Watercolor, and Wood. "Many of these artists run the circuit of the most prestigious art festivals in the country, we're honored to welcome them to Frisco," said Jim Leslie, managing partner of Frisco Square Development producers of the festival. Ongoing performing arts, interactive children’s art activities, live music provided by Collin County Song Writers Association, shopping and great food or snacks from Frisco Square’s award -winning restaurants and shops ensures that this is a festival everyone will enjoy.
