Summer Fun On The Water and In The Woods

Looking for a new place to hang out this Summer?  Look no further! The 144 mile Caney Fork River is known for its beauty and nostalgia. The river is calm and peaceful. Fish swim happily just below the water surface. Trout fisherman from all over flood these waters in hopes of catching some of the 100,000 Rainbow and Brown trout that are stocked here each year. In addition to the trout there are many other fun game fish to catch like bass, bluegill, stripe, walleye, and many other game fish. Not a fisherman? That?s okay, the Caney Fork has something to offer all water lovers. Recreational boating is common place here and at the two near by Lakes (Center Hill Lake & Great Falls Lake). Canoes and kayaks glide down the quiet water with ease. Ski boats, pontoon boats & jet skies are welcome on these waters. Take a swim and cool off or grab an inner tube!

Don't miss one of Tennessee's premier State Parks, Rock Island.  883 acres of hiking, swimming, camping, bird watching, majestic waterfalls and more!  Rock Island has 60 campsites, each equipped with 30 amp electrical and water hookups, grill, and picnic table. Three modern bathhouses (with hot water showers, lavatories, and commodes) are located in the camping area. There is a dump station at the far end of the campground for the convenience of self-contained camping rigs. Campers must register at the park office. Campsites can be reserved, maximum stay limit is two weeks. This facility is open year round.
